Kozgro’s Agricultural Field Blend (AFB) works with the soil, as well as the plant, as it is an organic fertilizer and plant food. If the soil is properly balanced, you will have a healthier, more vigorous plant. In the soil, the AFB helps to build humus and helps to start the process that quickly break down crop residues into organic matter, and finally into humus which the plant can use. It has an active humic acid in it. The AFB also sets up a conducive environment in the soil, which enables beneficial microorganisms, as well as earthworms and other beneficial organisms, to multiply. Also, water penetration improves to the point other products are not needed to accomplish this.
The AFB helps to eliminate the need to treat your grain fields for nematodes and most other parasitic organisms found in the soil. The AFB does not kill these pests directly, but creates an environment in the soil that is not conducive for parasitic nematodes and other parasitic organisms to live in. It does this by creating an environment in the soil for beneficial microorganisms to multiply in. These beneficial microorganisms, in turn, help to control the parasitic nematodes and most other parasitic organisms that may be harmful to the grain crop. Kozgro’s organic fertilizer, AFB, also helps to create a healthier immune system in the soil and plant. A healthier immune system, in turn, helps to increase the sugar level in the plant. This is very important when trying to control insect and disease problems in grains. A high sugar level in the plant is very important as chewing and sucking insects excrete sugar, but are unable to tolerate it. If these insects ingest too much sugar, they develop a condition similar to diarrhea, and will die. Generally, when the sugar content is high enough, the harmful insects will simply avoid feeding on the plant. When the sugar level is high enough, diseases will also be less of a problem. This is because a high sugar level indicates a high immune system. The higher the immune system, the fewer disease problems you will have. This is why a high sugar level is very important. Another of the many advantages of the Kozgro program is the AFB helps to make more of the nutrients in your soil available to the plant, while at the same time building soil fertility. Also, the fertilizer that is applied to the field will remain in the root zone longer, while the losses from leaching, volatilization, and being tied up, are reduced.
